The Foundation is named after Opal Grubbs. Opal spent the majority of her life alone in a nursing home as a ward of the state. She dreamed one-day she could leave the nursing home and see the ocean. With no family or funds, she was never able to fulfill that dream before passing away. We exist to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

Our Mission at Opal's Dream Foundation is to make sure that no one is ever forgotten. Please read more about our great mission.

Dear friends of Opal's, some of you might remember the story of Shirley Pierce and her wish to meet Billy Hamilton of the Cincinnati Reds. As you know, we were able to set up a face time meeting between Billy and Shirley at the end of October. I am so glad we were able to do this. Monday night, God took Shirley home. We are saddened by her death, yet glad she is now without pain and discomfort.

Please keep her family in your prayers.

God bless you Shirley. We miss you.
